There is no slowdown at all on the game and the game engine copes well with the characters movment and gun firing. I have only just completed it a week ago. Story mode can take a lot of time to complete as the first one did. It has a good setting and a god storyline for you to follow. Gameplay: The gameplay is one of the best parts of desert storm 2. The live content download is a good feature because it makes the game last longer. It is an awesome game and is a worthy sequel. Overall: I bought this game the day it came out and i loved it. They are not using much of what the system is capable of with the graphics and multiple save capability so I'd just leave it alone and go create something just for the Xbox if it were my group of developers. It's a port it looks like and should stay where it is. Suggestions: No, it's all wrong for Xbox from the get go. Sound: OK - For example calling in an air strike is fun and getting confirmation on it then watching it take place is pretty cool so the sound is an asset. Just looks older and not as smooth to me from a technology stand point. Graphics: Pretty decent as far as characters movement goes but pales in comparison to Ubisoft titles. Again, play this in multiplayer mode or don't bother. Weapon selection is good and is pretty fast to learn. Should have known better but squad leader games are best played in multiplayer period. Team members are shooting targets vs value adding cast. but environments could have soundded a bit more convincing. Sound: sound is average, explosions are okay. Graphics: visually sub-average, and relativly dissapointing.
one dissapointment is the absence of live! play. Gameplay: a very definitive style of gameplay, the switching characters and commanding is very good, fine-tuned.
when it keeps to what it it does best it is good, but often gets caught up in it's minor, yet frequent flaws. phew!! now that thats off my chest! conflict desert storm2 is a good game, and one of the earlier succesful entries into 3rd person playing, and commanding games. but as this is a game, i will rate it as that and that only. if i was to take into account the political and moral significance of the game i would be obliged to lower the rating. Overall: i am rating this game as a game, and that only.
